To ensure simplicity, it is integrated with the openshift console, making Storage scale very easy to use, manage, and deploy. CSI provides a self-service mode, which can dynamically configure storage, and allows you to complete the container capacity configuration in seconds. Another advantage is that it is easy to increase data access throughput with one click, because it creates an optimized parallel path directly to the storage node.

The following content is displayed on the same screen for your experiment so that you can make any necessary reference in experiment. Start your experiment now!

  1. 登录 Openshift 与 Storage Scale 环境(Duration: 2 mins)
    在浏览器第一窗口的Log in with...下方选择 cscdemo
    使用默认保存的账号,点击Log in进入OpenShift管理界面
    登录后,可以点击Skip tour跳过快速功能浏览,也可以选择Get started查看功能介绍(不影响后边的实验)
     

     

  2. Project 项目说明(Duration: 5 mins)
    返回浏览器第一窗口,在 OpenShift 当前页面中,我们可以看到三个 Project (也称作namespace),分别是
    (1) cscdemo0x(x=1,2,3...)
    这是我们本次实验使用的Project,具有edit权限
    (2) csc-spectrum-scale-csi-driver
    这个Project提供了Spectrum Scale的Container Storage Interface(CSI)模块,提供了快速创建持久化存储PVs的接口
    (3) ibm-spectrum-scale-ns
    这个Project提供了容器化的 Spectrum Scale 节点并与浏览器另一个窗口中的gpfs101节点组成了Spectrum Scale Cluster,提供容器原生的存储访问空间
     
     
    第一个项目cscdemo0x是我们本次实验项目。后两个项目只有read-only权限,您可以进入了解模块组成
    点击cscdemo0x进入实验项目
  3. 安装MongoDB并关联持久化存储空间(Duration: 5 mins)
    进入cscdemo0x项目后,点击Database
     
     
    等待几秒钟后,找到并点击MongoDB(with SC)
     
     
    继续点击Instantiate Template
     
     
    这里参数基本不需要修改,但可以略微修改下容量Volume Capacity,例如1.12Gi,方便后面步骤对应查看
    参数Volume Storage Class默认为ibm-spectrum-scale-csi-fileset,这个SC将调用Spectrum Scale的CSI接口,快速创建基于Spectrum Scale的PV以及与MongoDB容器关联的PVC
    在最下方,点击Create,创建带有Spectrum Scale持久化存储空间的MongoDB容器
     
  4. 查看MongoDB与存储空间(Duration: 5 mins)
    单击DC MongoDB,右侧弹出详情,可以看到Pods下方的MongoDB容器状态由Pending变为Running
    点击P mongodb-1-xxxxx,查看容器Details详情
     
     
    下拉窗口,找到Volumes,找到mongodb-data
    点击右边的PVC mongodb,查看PVC的详细信息
     
     
    点击PVC mongodb上方的PersistentVolumeClaims,查看PVC列表,
     
     
    可以看到对应的PV名称(以pvc开头+32位数字字符)和容量大小
  5. 查看Storage Scale存储信息(Duration: 2 mins)
    打开浏览器第二个窗口
    Name中输入cscdemo,Password中输入password(默认已保存),点击Sign In进入Spectrum Scale的Filesets信息界面
     

     

    在浏览器第二窗口的Spectrum Scale的Fileset管理界面中,可以看到自动创建的以pvc开头+32位数字字母的Fileset
    双击这个fileset,右侧弹出详细信息
     
     
    其中Hard quota容量与我们创建MongoDB参数中输入的容量相同
     
  6. 手工挂载容器原生存储到MongoDB(Duration: 6 mins)
    前面我们创建MongoDB时,通过Template直接挂载了持久化存储空间,接下来我们尝试手工挂载一个基于Spectrum Scale容器原生存储空间。
    返回浏览器第一窗口OpenShift界面,点击左侧导航栏的Topology
     
     
    点击DC mongodb,打开详情页
     
     
    点击详情页右上角的Actions下拉菜单,找到并点击Add storage,进入添加存储页面
     
     
    (1)选择Create new claim
    (2)Storage Class保持默认的ibm-spectrum-scale-csi-fileset
    (3)Persistent Volume Claim Name输入PVC名称,例如:cscdemo
    (4)Size输入存储容量,例如:1.66 GiB(实验环境空间有限,不建议太大)
    (5)Mount path输入挂载路径,例如:/mnt/cscdemo
    点击Save,完成创建,
     
     
    几分钟后,一个挂载新存储空间的MongoDB容器生成
     
  7. 查看MongoDB存储空间和Storage Scale存储信息(Duration: 3 mins)
    点击上方选项卡Pods,可以看到新的容器,名称为mongodb-2-xxxxx
     
     
    点击P mongodb-2-xxxxx,查看容器Details详情
    下拉窗口,找到Volumes,找到mongodb-data和刚刚创建的cscdemo
    点击右边的PVC cscdemo,查看PVC的详细信息
     
     
    点击PVC cscdemo上方的PersistentVolumeClaims,查看PVC列表,
     
     
    可以看到cscdemo对应的PV名称(以pvc开头+32位数字字符)
     
     
    在浏览器第二窗口的Spectrum Scale的Fileset管理界面中,可以看到自动创建的以pvc开头+32位数字字母的Fileset
    双击这个fileset,右侧弹出详细信息
